Resembling a carrot in shape with a pale yellow-white appearance is wider in shape than its cousin the carrot. Under its knobby skin is a creamy smooth root with a firm texture. The firm texture and sweet, nutty flavor of parsnips have foodies everywhere reaching for their roasting pans and vegetable peelers. Melissa’s Parsnips resemble a carrot in shape with a pale yellow-white appearance but are wider than its cousin the carrot. Under its knobby skin is a creamy smooth root with a firm texture.

Storage: Refrigerate, unwashed in a plastic bag up to 10 days. Parsnips should be scrubbed with a brush under running water, prior to use.
Usage:Perfect for roasting with a drizzle of olive oil with salt and pepper, Melissa’s Parsnips are also fantastic pureed, or steamed and added to casseroles and stews. Parsnips have been mainly associated with stews, but its sweet personality is delicious glazed, battered and deep-fried, or served in soups.

Cabbages, asparagus, leeks, dandelions, the market gardener supplies his entire production to the great Parisian chefs. There are over 200 varieties of vegetables in all.
