In Chinese, Bai Mu Dan means ‘white peony’. It’s a blend that has been enjoyed in China since the early 15th century and a lot of care goes into making it. Lovingly crafted so as to deal with the high temperatures and humid climate of Southern China, the leaf buds can only be handpicked between March and April. Yet this is no shy wallflower of a tea. The floral aromas and subtle fruit notes are followed by a lively kick as this blend is a hybrid of traditional green tea and white tea. Great for first thing in the morning or whenever you need a fragrant pick-me-up.
Welcome to the world of Nunshen®
Since 1938, Nunshen has steadily built its expertise by selecting the best premium, fine and rare teas from around the world. Their savoir-faire unified to their long partnership with renowned Tea Masters revealed Nunshen: a modern unique tea experience.
“Nunshen” is based on a 4000-year-old legend. Shen Nung was a Chinese Emperor and herbalist who tested for the first time the mix of boiling water and tea leaves. Delighted by these unexpected flavors, he spread the knowledge of tea virtues throughout China. Nunshen’s brand name pays tribute to this hero of Chinese mythology.
Nunshen teas are prepared in the most traditional way to preserve the aromas and flavors of the leaves.
The muslins are made from biodegradable natural materials with no artificial additives. They are hand made with 100% cotton to allow the teas to express their aromas.
