Organic Peach

$169 by kg

Enjoy our organic yellow or white peaches on their own, or in any of your favorite peach recipes. These are great fruits for preserving and we highly recommend freezing or canning peaches to enjoy in the winter months. Peaches are native to China, but the name “peach” comes from Persia, which cultivated the fruit and eventually transplanted it across Europe. Origin: France or Spain Packaging: kraft bag Storage: peaches purchased hard-ripe will ripen if you leave them out on the counter, un-refrigerated, for two or three days. Put them in a brown paper bag to hasten the process. Don’t refrigerate though until they’re fully ripe, and then don’t keep them in the refrigerator for more than a day or two. Usage: eat them straight away or cook them to create delicious recipes, mix it with roquefort for a tasty starter. The intense flavor of yellow peaches make them very suitable for baking.

Organic Pomegranate

$135 by kilo

Mollar de Elche pomegranate has traditionally been a highly prized and esteemed fruit in many civilizations. Together with the palm tree, the pomegranate tree is the most characteristic tree in Campo de Elche, and has been known from time immemorial. In Spain, the Mollar de Elche pomegranate is by far the most popular variety and is unquestionably the most widely grown in this country. Pomegranate is one of the world’s oldest known fruit, also translated as the “apple with many seeds” by the French. Inside the fruit, seeds cluster like a glimmering carpet beneath thin yellow membranes. These small red seeds are packed with health-supporting antioxidants along with deliciously sweet, tart juice. On the outside, the apple-sized fruit has a leathery shell that can range from pink to deep crimson, even russet brown. Although native to Persia  pomegranates have become a worldwide culinary necessity, whether they’re used to garnish green salads or used as a base for jelly, sorbets and cocktails. The foolproof way to prep Pomegranates is to use the no-mess “underwater” technique so that you can avoid any staining. Cut the Pomegranate into quarters over a paper towel. Fill a medium bowl with cold water. Hold a Pomegranate quarter under the water, seed side down. Pull edges back, exposing seeds. Run fingers over seeds to remove them. Turn fruit over, still holding underwater, and pick out remaining seeds. Origin:  Spain Packaging:  Paper bag Storage: Store fruit at room temperature for up to one week and refrigerate for up to two weeks. Seeds can be refrigerated airtight up to five days or frozen up to three months. Usage: Perfect to it on its own or use for juice. The best pairings for Pomegranates include citrus, melon, tea, lemongrass, chiles and avocado. Some surprising pairings are mushroom and basil. Price is per kilo
